The Midnight Purple story goes on. And this time, we’ve taken it a step further. Purple is a colour deeply rooted in the history of our brand, inherited from Armin Strom himself. With the Orbit Midnight Purple, it now extends beyond the dial and into the movement itself.
On the Armin Strom Orbit, the date is only shown when requested. A pusher at 10 o’clock moves the date hand from its neutral position to the current date on the ceramic bezel. A second press returns it to 12 o’clock, leaving the dial free from unnecessary information.

For the first time, the midnight purple colour extends beyond the dial into the movement: a frosted midnight purple mainplate sits beneath the fumé dial.
The signature midnight purple fumé dial remains at the centre of the composition, transitioning from a vivid purple core to darker edges that accentuate the depth of the architecture. For the first time, a frosted midnight purple mainplate beneath the dial amplifies the colour’s presence and strengthens the visual connection between the display and the mechanics.
Hand-polished steel hands, crafted in-house and filled with Super-LumiNova®, ensure exceptional legibility in all lighting conditions. The applied hour markers are luminescent too, while the signature numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock are crafted from solid Super-LumiNova® blocks, creating a striking presence after dark. A black ceramic bezel, a stainless steel case and a fully integrated stainless steel bracelet complete the most complete expression of this colourway to date.
Most watches show the date all the time, whether you need it or not. The Orbit takes a different approach. Powering the watch is the manufacture Calibre ASS20, developed and produced entirely in-house and conceived around the world’s first on-demand date display on a ceramic bezel.

Turn the watch over, or look through the sapphire crystal, and you’ll see our commitment to transparent mechanics and hand-finishing. The purple mainplate forms a distinctive foundation, contrasting with the rhodium-coated components and hand-finished finger bridges. Hand-polished bevels, perlage and circular graining enrich every surface, while the openworked construction highlights the interaction between colour and mechanics. Together, dial and mainplate reinforce the Orbit’s three-dimensional character.
As with every Armin Strom timepiece, each watch is assembled twice to ensure both mechanical precision and finishing excellence.
