Gravity warps time. Precision recalibrates it.
A conventional mainspring’s force drops as it unwinds. It’s a law as old as watchmaking itself. But laws were made to be understood, then transcended. The Gravity Equal Force reimagines the horological energy transfer through a constant-force mechanism that optimizes the non-linear power curve inherent in traditional mainspring systems. Put more simply: it breaks the laws of traditional watchmaking with radical micro-engineering.
Our ASB19 calibre features our patented equal force barrel combined with automatic winding. By implementing a sophisticated stop-work mechanism, we isolate the most consistent segment of the mainspring’s power curve, ensuring near-linear energy delivery to the escapement. In other words: we convinced the mainspring to deliver power as consistently as a Swiss train schedule.
Driven by a microrotor, the movement maintains an impressively slim profile. The Gravity Equal Force proves that mechanical efficiency and visual intricacy work very well together. A point that we try to prove in every one of our timepieces, by the way.
Three sculptural “finger” bridges create a bold geometric landscape within the timepiece, challenging traditional movement design. The off-center time indication floats above this mechanical terrain, while the fully open-worked movement reveals every calculated heartbeat of the mechanism. Powering the Gravity Equal Force is a microrotor—a choice made to achieve a more compact and refined construction. Crafted from tungsten, an exceptionally dense and challenging material to machine, it is finely decorated and blends in seamlessly with the many other hand-finished elements of the movement.
Each component is strategically positioned and invites to a visual exploration of engineering art.
It’s the high level of hand-finishing that elevates the Gravity Equal Force from a precision instrument to an expression of mechanical beauty. Two-level Geneva stripes cascade across bridges perfectly aligned, while circular graining creates subtle light interactions on the plates. Delicate perlage patterns weave across visible surfaces, creating a subtle play of texture. The hand-guilloché main plate creates a dramatic backdrop for meticulously polished sinks and hand-beveled edges that catch light with surgical precision.
These are not just decorative techniques—they’re a manifesto of watchmaking where every microscopic detail tells a story of human skill and scientific passion.
